Required Supplements: The Phonics Flashcards and Classical Phonics are required to complete all activities in Traditional Spelling.

The Traditional Spelling I Student Workbook features 34 lessons and a dictionary of spelling words included in the program. Each lesson contains a Phonics Focus, a list of spelling words, room to write colorful words, a short reading passage, spelling sentences, and dictation. The answers are contained in Traditional Spelling Book I Teacher Manual. This program is included in our First Grade Curriculum Package.

This course has been a Godsend for us. It’s unlike any other spelling materials we’ve used, incorporating phonics throughout each lesson has really helped my daughter be able to break down longer unfamiliar words when reading.

We used the original spelling workbook last year and my daughter flew it and I felt like she wasnt absorbing the lessons like she should. We switched to Traditional Spelling this year and we both like it so much better. She especially likes using the sentence strips and figuring out the sentences.

Great book!! The spelling lists are simple enough yet the phonics of each lesson is so thorough! The little reading sections are a bit more challenging than the words and phonics concepts in our opinion, but they provide just the right amount of challenge.
