IEW: Adventures in Writing
Featured in the Memoria Press Third Grade Curriculum Set, Adventures in Writing provides a way for students to develop confidence in the writing process. Students will explore a wide variety of fascinating subjects and learn Structure and Style® in writing. As they move through various themes and topics, lessons will introduce and review models of structure and elements of style that will help them organize any type of composition. Ultimately, the unique approach of the Institute for Excellence in Writing will gradually guide students toward greater independence and creativity.
Memoria Press’ composition program, Classical Composition, is the perfect follow-up to IEW: Adventures in Writing. Classical Composition is based on the original classical method of teaching writing called the “progymnasmata.” It was the program that produced John Milton and William Shakespeare. This method involved learning fourteen skills, organized from the simplest and most basic to the most complex and sophisticated. Learn more about the different stages of Classical Composition here.
