Simply Classical Copybook: Book One, Manuscript Sample

Copybook is a time-honored activity in which students copy Scripture, maxims, poetry, and other literature selections. Through the Simply Classical Copybook series, students strengthen penmanship, spelling, punctuation, vocabulary, and memory. Students learn habits of accuracy, neatness, and patience. Even more, they receive truth and comfort from Holy Scripture. Shorter selections help accommodate for writing difficulties while providing the full benefits of copybook exercises for all beginning writers.

In First Start Reading Book B, we have our students continue to work on learning the short vowels which began in First Start Reading Book A. Students will solidify short vowels in their mind by completing various assignments such as tracing, drawing, and writing.

In First Start Reading Book A, we have our students spend time covering their short vowels. Whether through tracing, drawing, or even rhyming, our students will not only solidify what they are learning, but they will also have fun doing so!

First Start Reading is a complete phonics course that focuses on 3 important skills:

In  First Start Reading Book D, we have our students move on to working on long vowels, silent e, and consonant blends. As the students work through this book, they will complete various exercises such as drawing illustrations, matching, coloring, and more!

Kindergarten Phonics Supplemental Workbook Sample

The Kindergarten Phonics Supplemental Workbook will help your student retain what they learn as they complete their phonics education! Designed to work in conjunction with our award-winning First Start Reading (FSR) program, this workbook promotes the recall of phonetic concepts already taught through the FSR program. It contains four activity pages for each consonant, short and long vowel, consonant team, and blend.

Fine motor skills are critical for primary students to master. We have paired this Cut & Paste Book with our kindergarten phonics and reading program so that students can practice their scissors skills, using glue, and letter tracing while working on mastery of beginning sounds. The pages are in the same order that students study the  alphabet in First Start Reading, with additional pages for the h-consonant teams of sh, th, ch, and wh as they are introduced.

The Rod & Staff Grade 1 Math Student Book (Part 1) uses a mastery approach when teaching mathematics. This means that the student will spend a significant amount of time on one particular skill, such as addition or subtraction, in order to master said skill before moving on.
