Andy and the Lion

Andy and the Lion by James Daugherty is a Caldecott Honor book that retells the fable of “Androcles and the Lion” through the story of a young boy who goes to the local library and checks out a book about lions. He reads about lions, and his grandfather tells him a story about hunting lions. That night Andy even dreams about lions. Then, on the way to school the next day, Andy actually meets a lion!
