People used to talk about someone having a “good hand.” It was a compliment on their penmanship. Despite the onset of computer technology, the need for a good hand has not gone away. Not only do we still have plenty of occasions to write by hand, but research continues to show that writing by hand helps in knowledge retention and writing ability. In addition to our manuscript copybooks, our New American Cursive program will teach your child how to write more consistently and legibly, as well as to do it faster.
Learn more about New American Cursive here. Old cursive style abounds with flourishes and loops, which is not practical for the beginning writer or for today’s fast-paced life style. This alphabet was developed with the beginning writer in mind. It retains the classic style of yesteryear but has been simplified for three main reasons: legibility, ease of use, and speed. Unnecessary initial strokes and extra loops have been eliminated to meet the needs of today’s students for a beautiful, fast, legible script.
