Our Kindergarten Curriculum Manual features teaching guidelines, and a recommended schedule, as well as lesson plans for every day for 34 weeks. Subjects included in these lesson plans include opening recitation, Christian studies, phonics, math, copybook and memory work, literature, and enrichment. The appendix includes prayers, letter activities for phonics review, recitation, a kindergarten calendar timeline, copybook selections, a read-aloud book list, a history/culture/science resource list, a poetry list, music and art selections, math families, word lists, and kindergarten worksheets.
I relied on this book for guidance every day. I am thankful for all the work that must have gone into putting it together! My favorite thing about this book is that it ties together multiple subjects, recitation facts, and enrichment activities into weekly themes, reinforcing it and enabling the child to pursue it from different angles, which seems so natural. For example, on Week 21, we read a bible story relating to bread, read a book about a bread-maker, learned about the science of bread-making, and made bread at home. The jewel in the crown for us was to learn the verse “I am the bread of life” the following week to remind us of how our bread points us to Jesus in our everyday life.

This is such a well thought out curriculum manual! All of Memoria’s teacher manuals are! It makes it so easy to go the night before school and pick out what you are going to need for the next day. Everything flows so well together. I enjoy that there is a theme for each week. I also love lists so being able to check things off as you get them done is nice!

I love the curriculum manuals, but I really wish there was a PDF version available for purchase because I lost mine and wanted to just print it off.
