Memoria Press’s Third Grade Curriculum can be a big jump from the world of basic skills and simple literature in the primary grades to the more difficult material in the grammar school, so we have structured our program to allow 3rd graders to work at a moderated pace. This will ease students into the more advanced workload of grammar school, while still proving a challenging classical Christian curriculum.
To complete the Read-Aloud portion of the curriculum, you will need the weekly read-alouds and can choose from either novels or picture books. These can be purchased in a set from Memoria Press or gathered at the library, or you may already own many of these classic books.
The Third Grade Scope & Sequence resource explains what content is covered and which skills are acquired in this grade level.
See “Note” in description section below regarding our choice of The Best Christmas Pageant Ever.
Concerning Writing: This package offers IEW’s Adventures in Writing Student Book for use as Writing Curriculum. If you would like to add the corresponding Teacher’s Manual to your package, please customize here.

We’re very satisfied with this curriculum. This is our second year using Memoria Press, which is affordable and more user friendly than some of the other curriculums out there.

This curriculum is so much fun! You have greek myths, Animal studies, Latin, States and Capitals, Poetry, Timeline, all things fun and fascinating (our kids Love being able to be creative in their writing and learning better how to do so) ThisCurriculum is packed full and well organized. I have 5 kids going through Memoria in 4 different grades. (1st-5th) We start at 6:45 am and are done by 1pm with a lunch break thrown in there. I also have a 10 month old and 3 year old. This curriculum is fun, challenging (in a good way) and doable.

We started Memoria Press after our oldest had already spent most of her time in public school. She was just getting by (in fact sometimes failing certain subjects) and the school had decided to pass her to the next grade anyway. This seemed like a great way to set her up for failure. This is one of our very many reasons we homeschool. We were worried about starting her on something so classical as it seems like it would have been a negative culture shock. And it absolutely was, but in a great way (not negative at all)! Our daughter has flourished on this curriculum and has shown us talents and strengths as well as some weaknesses we never even knew about. I really am happy that we got the bundle to start of with. It made it much easier for me to organize and start quicker than if I decided not to. I can now customize all other packages we purchases as well. Thank you so much for providing a package like this.
