The Brothers Karamazov by Fyodor Dostoyevskey is considered
one of the great modern novels. It is also one of the greatest
and most influential Christian books ever written. The themes
of the book are eternal and deal with God, death, evil, and free
will. Dostoyevskey's observations during the course of this great
novel are life-changing. This course will consist of five two-hour
lecture/discussions on the book, concentrating on several of the
key scenes, including "Rebellion" (one of the greatest
discussions of the problem of evil ever written), the Grand Inquisitor,
the death scene of Father Zosima, the the trial scene of Dmitri
Karamazov.
