Description:
This course covers SAT preparation including important
strategies for success in all aspects of the SAT, including
math, critical reading, and essay writing. During the class
chat time, students will work through sections of The
Official SAT Study Guide. The College Board’s recommendations
to enhance SAT essays will be discussed, as well as approaches
to identifying sentence errors in the writing portion of
the SAT exam. In addition, a complete review of the math
sections on the SAT exam will be conducted during the class.
The final weeks of the course, the students will work through
an actual SAT Practice Test during the class time and will
determine their score range for the completed practice test
sections. Also, a brief overview of the resources available
through the College Board website will be included in this
class. There is no homework or on-line quizzes required
for this class. This is a 12-week course.
(Note: Students will have the opportunity to have their
essays graded by an official SAT grader for an additional
fee of $35. Arrangements for this additional service will
be discussed in class, and an email notice will be sent
out to class participants with further information.)
