Description:
A continuation of how we form ideas, judgments, and arguments
and how we express them, with an emphasis on the on the structure
of reasoning for students wanting to expand their knowledge
of formal logic beyond basic argument forms to include advanced,
complex arguments. Based on Martin Cothran's Traditional
Logic II: Advanced Formal Logic. A one-semester course.
Suggested Age: Grades 8 and up.

Logic II: Advanced Formal Logic, by Martin Cothran. Traditional
Logic II DVD. (not included in price of course)
Content Covered: Continued coverage of simple
categorical syllogisms, including the memorization of the
19 valid categorical argument forms. Also includes the study
of complex categorical and hypothetical argument forms including
sorites, epicheirema, and the dilemma. Practical examples
are given and several case studies of famous arguments from
history are covered.

II is worth approximately 1/2 year high school course credit
(logic, language arts, or philosophy). If taken together with
Traditional
Logic I, the student would earn a full year high school
