Description: A two-semester course covering units 1-2 of Latin:
First Year, by Robert J. Henle ("Henle Latin").
This course moves a little more quickly than the Latina Christiana
program, but is perfect for the student beginning Latin grades
6-9. The first semester of a two-semester course.
Suggested Age: Grades 6-9 .
Required Course Texts: Latin: First Year, and Grammar by Robert J. Henle; Henle
Guide I (for units I-II), by Cheryl Lowe. (not included
in price of the course)
Prerequisites: No previous Latin is required for
this course.
Content Covered: Coverage of five noun and two adjective
declensions with a stress on the understanding of the five
main grammatical cases. Short readings on Christian and Roman
history will also be presented.
Class Chat Times: Monday, 2:30pm EST or
Tuesday, 4:00p.m. EST or Thursday, 4:00 p.m. EST (students
can choose any one of these times)
Estimated Workload: 30 minutes/day.
