I noticed on the webpage for the seventh grade curriculum set, that there is an option to switch out the level 4 Classical Composition that is listed, for the "first year package." Is that referring to the Accelerated Course....or is it something different?
My current 6th grader has not yet started CC, and I am wondering what the best route is for getting her started next year. (I don't want to add it right now as she is in a monthly writing class already which has a lot of assignments) Another reason that I ask, is because I looked at the sample for the Accelerated Course...and it is a lesson directly out of the Fable book. Therefore I assume the Accelerated Course simply contains a sample of lessons pulled out of each of the first three levels. Is that correct? If that is the case, then I would probably purchase the levels individually (we have a 4th grader using Fable right now, he will be using the 2nd level next year, so I would simply purchase the 3rd level at the same time) but the info I would need is an idea of how many lessons out of each book I should have my 7th grader do. Does that make sense? Thanks in advance for the guidance! AMDG, Sarah |

Hi, Sarah.
I was actually working on the lesson plans for first-year seventh graders in Classical Comp on Fri., and if I have a productive day tomorrow, I'll finish it up! We are recommending that first year students in 7th grade complete 16 Fable lessons, 8 Narrative lessons, and 8 Chreia/Maxim lessons (if I remember this correctly). So, where a 4th grader would spend 8 days completing one Fable lesson, a 7th grader will do that same amount of work in 5 days. If you purchase our package that includes the Fable, Narrative, and Chreia/Maxim Stages, you will use pieces of each of them the first year, and then you will complete them the next two years as review lessons before moving on to the next stage. We can send you the 7th grade lesson plans for CC if you want to follow this plan (after I've finished laying them out). Regards, Tanya |

That was exactly the help I was looking for...thank you!
Since I will need the separate books for my other kids going forward, I will just buy the levels individually, and use the number of lessons that you recommend for 7th. I will make a note that when I am buying her seventh grade package, to ask for the lesson plans that would guide me through that. I am actually glad to have had a slow-paced introduction to the series by starting with my fourth grader rather than my older student to just help me get my feet wet with it! Thanks! AMDG, Sarah |
