Default SRA Phonics and other

Hi. I looked at the SRA Phonics from the McGraw-Hill website. Is the book we're getting just the student book or the teacher book too? I'm assuming they are just getting the student workbook. Is that correct?

Also, where can we see the EPS readers?

And where can I see the Animal Alphabet coloring book? I have tried to find both online and can't seem to find it.

Thanks!

Shaina,

Here's the address for the readers:

Shaina,

This reply went to the wrong place, so I am placing it here where it belongs. I don't know how I got it put under Nature Study, and I don't know how to move it, so we'll just have it posted in two different places until I figure it out... Scary that I have a part in your children's education, isn't it?

We use the red Set 1 and the blue Set 2.

We do use the SRA workbooks only. Our phonics program is a complete program in itself; we just supplement it with SRA for extra practice. You don't have to do every worksheet we give you the option of doing. Once your child has mastered a concept, you can move on. We just want to make sure we provide enough practice for everyone to gain mastery.

The Animal Alphabet coloring book is by Spizzirri Press. Here is the address:

Regards,

Tanya

Default Thanks!

Thanks for your reply, Tanya. I appreciate your help. I had some of the books already from the K package of read alouds so I just bought the rest on Amazon. Do you have a read aloud list yet that I can use to buy the first and second grade books? Maybe that way I could stagger the cost of buying the curriculum and buying the books, although I'm sure I have several of them already.

Shaina,

I do have a list, but it may change. Second Grade isn't complete yet, but I'll send you what I have. Ask me in a couple of weeks for the final list, and we should have it all worked out. First Grade is pretty much good to go unless we find something we like better while reviewing Second Grade books, so it could change also.

I'll attach the list.

Default Read aloud list missing 1st grade

Hi, Tanya. I printed the list out and only 2nd grade was on it. Is there a first grade? I'm planning to buy K-2, so that's why I wanted all 3. You guys should totally come to HEAV next year and then I can buy next years curriculum there because I always go unless I just had a baby or am really pregnant, and that's only happened once in the last few years. I think it is a great way to let people get their hands on it, which was what convinced me. And there are a lot of classical educators up in Northern VA where I live.

Shaina,

That is so weird. I posted both attachments, and even opened them after I attached them, but one is gone now. I'll re-attach it here. Maybe I'm only allowed one per post.

Virginia is a good state for us because of Susan Wise Bauer. But I understand that she doesn't speak at HEAV, which I find odd.

Cheers,

Tanya
