Hi--new homeschooler here, just planning to start Prima Latina this week! I was viewing the DVD lessons with Leigh Lowe, and I have a quick question. If the "u" in Latin is supposed to be pronounced "oo" as in "boo", then why in the word "ambulo" is the the "u" pronounced like a long "u"? I'm just wondering if there is a reason for this. Thanks very much for your help.
