Default Can we start Henle after only completing half of LC1 with 6yh & 8th graders?

We dropped Latin half way through last year due to time constraints. We have made it through Prima Latina and half of LC 1. DC will be in 6th and 8th grade this fall. I will also have a 3rd grader but we may wait until 4th to start Latin.

We are going to be picking it up again this year. Could we do Henle 1 do you think? I got rid of my Latin stuff so I wouldn't feel guilty not doing it. Now I wish I hadn't but....

Anyway since oldest is almost in high school I was hoping maybe we could just start on the Henle series.

Any thoughts?
TIA
Tina

Tina,

You can certainly start Henle with your 8th grader. You might be able to do it with your 6th grader also, but I think it would best to either use LC right now or wait until 8th grade to use Henle.

Thanks Marie,

I was hoping to keep them together since I also have a younger one.
I don't think I'd be able to keep up with 3 levels of Latin. We had trouble getting to just one level with all of our other studies.
I'll have to think about it.

Tina,

How about joining the HenleLatin Yahoo Group (by emailing HenleLatin-subscribe@yahoogroups.com) and asking them their opinions on starting a 6th grader in Henle? A lot of them are teaching Latin to children of the same age as yours and should know something about this.
