I'm looking over my daughter's homework and have a question about LCII, lesson VIII, exercise B, number 2 on page 36 of the student's manual. The teacher's book has the answer as "discipulos" - based upon the translation, and this may reveal my ignorance of grammar, shouldn't it be "discipulis" since the phrase being translated is "for the students"? Also, the verb "to wait" has not been a part of the vocabulary up to this point and, yet, the imperfect form of this verb is what the student is expected to translate. Did I miss something? Thanks for your help.

Yes, the verb "exspecto" has not been taught by Lesson VIII; it isn't given until Lesson XII. It means "I expect" or "I wait for." The "for" is understood in the verb and so the object takes the accusative--"discipulos" is correct.
