My daughters are doing Prima Latina and Latina Christiana 1 this year and we asked a couple of other families to join us. I am buying the Teacher's Manual and student books. But as far as the other families, should they buy their own Teacher's Manual or is having the student books enough?
We will be meeting once a week. I just didn't know, 1)if it's right to share the Teacher's Manual between us, and 2)if there is anything in the Teacher's Manual that they absolutely need to have throughout the week before we meet again. Thanks for your input! Stephanie |

Stephanie,
It's really up to you and your families as far as their involvement. If you are doing all the teaching and the other parents just need to make sure the students are learning the grammar and vocabulary, they will probably not need the teacher manual. But if you don't have adequate class time to check their written work, you may want the parents to do that at home, and that would require them to have the key. Prima is so simple that they could probably check it without a key, but as the Latin gets more difficult, they will definitely want a key. When my sons were doing Henle in a cottage school setting, I couldn't have survived without a key for fear of them doing all of their work incorrectly because I couldn't set them on the right path (Henle being beyond me). I think I'd leave it up to the parents. This sounds like a fun project! I hope all goes well and everyone falls in love with Latin! Cheers, Tanya |

Thank you so much. I am going to just go ahead and let the moms decide if they want the teacher's manual or not.....I'm excited about Latin this year. I think my girls will enjoy it much more having friends to learn along with
