Default TLI Ch. 9 Q.18

" When the O statement has been obverted, how many negations are contained in the predicate (before applying the rule of double negation)?"

Answer key - "Three"

My notes say to obvert an 'O' statement:

*Change the quality
Some S is not P , Some S is P
*Then negate the predicate
Some S is P , Some S is non-P

I see one negation, Some S is non-P, not three.

What am I doing wrong?

Thank you,

Andrea

Andrea,

I see exactly what the problem is. On Question 18 on Day 2 Exercises, it should be the "I statement" instead of the "O statement". And the answer in the answer key should be "Two" instead of "Three".

I'm making the changed in our corrections copy. Thank you so much for catching this!

Thanks Scott. So would my answer be correct for the way the original question was stated? One negation?

I have an older set of both TLI and TLII, which I purchased from you in 2000, and a new set of DVDs for both. There may already be updates that I am not aware of but I cannot afford to purchase the sets again. Instead, I will come here to pester all of you.

Andrea
