Wink Henle I Exercise 236 #9

The instruction was to translate the sentences.

9. War had been waged with the Gauls.

The answer key reads: Bellum cum Gallis gessum erat.

My question. Since the fourth principle part of gero is gestus, wouldn't it be conjugated as gestum? Is the 3rd conjugation that sassy?

Thank you.
Lilli

Default gero gerere

Yes, should be 'gestum' -- key is wrong.
