Default conflict w/previous text

Okay, I probably should be able to figure this one out. First Latin says "Quid est praenomen tibi?" and Latina Christiana says "Quid est praenomen tuum?" Which is correct and why? Sigh, if only I knew more...at least there's this board!

Default two forms of possessive

Both are correct. The first construction is called the Dative of Possession and the second uses simply a possessive adjective. Now, I don't know why the two texts use different forms, especially since the earlier book uses the more idiomatic form (less like English). Nor do I know which form is "better"(i. e. which form should I teach my kids?) Anybody have an idea?
