Question LCI in co-op - how?

Hi,
I'm just trying to get some ideas how to incorporate LC into our co-op. We only meet once per week, so how much can we accomplish in that time and what should I expect the parent/students to accomplish on their own? Do any of you have a set-up like this and what has been your experience with it? Any information will be appreciated.

Thanks,
Karen

Karen,

I have taught Latin in a co-op for 14 years. We have two tracks:

Latina Christiana I & II: each done in a year, which amounts to one lesson a week.

Henle Latin: We do Units 1-4 in the first year, 5-10 the second year, Henle II the third year, and then read 30 articles out of St. Thomas's Summa Theologica the fourth year.

We meet once a week for an hour to 1 1/2 hours and this works just fine.

Let me know if you need anything else.

We only have 1/2 hour class time and the ages are grouped 2nd-4th graders in one class and 5th-8th grader in the other. Any suggestions?

Karen,

I think would have some trouble trying to do Latin in a co-op with only 1/2 hour per week. In that kind of format, your class time is probably best spent on an elective course of some kind.
