Question Copybook and Cursive Progression

My sister is currently using Copybook II and NAC I. She is in 1st grade. When is she supposed to use Copybook Cursive?

Thanks!

Hello.

We use Copybook Cursive as our students are doing New American Cursive in 2nd grade. They are in their 2nd year of cursive writing, so this is just additional practice.

Copybook Cursive is the same text as our Copybook III Manuscript. We did a cursive version because our students were doing cursive writing earlier. So, you can buy Copybook III in manuscript or cursive now.

Cheers,

Tanya

Thanks Tanya!

And is it appropriate to use both Copybook II and Cursive I at the same time?

That is a good question. And, yes, it is entirely appropriate. Cursive I is teaching the letters one by one, so the students are gradually learning cursive. In the meantime, they continue to practice their manuscript writing in their daily work, which includes Copybook II.

In their second year of cursive, they move to our new Copybook Cursive, which is our original Copybook III put into the New American Cursive font. Then, their daily work is done in cursive as they master it.

Cheers,

Tanya
