I am new to Latin. My daughter and I were wondering why sometimes the DO is before the genitive as in #2 and sometimes after the genitive as in #4. My daughter seems to think the order isn't important but I want to make sure I am not missing something.
Thanks!

Your daughter is right! Word order in Latin is not important. That is why we have noun cases. The case of the noun determines the noun's function in the sentence; so wherever an accusative case noun is in the sentence - it is still the direct object. The noun in the sentence that is in the nominative case is the subject of the sentence, regardless of its word order in the sentence. Tell your daughter to keep up the good work!
