We are currently going through Christian Studies 2. For the geography questions we have been referencing The Golden Childrens Bible as well as the maps in the CS-2 teachers manual plus The Student Bible Atlas and the Historical Atlas of the world.
With all of these we are still having difficulties locating all the areas listed. Do you have a good Atlas recommendation? Or can you give me some more direction as far as being able to help my children locate these ancient cities from the resources listed above.
Thank you very much!!

Wow! I give you an A+ for effort! We are currently working on revising these map activities. They are too obscure and difficult to find - as you've noticed. I would just concentrate on major areas students need to know that will benefit them as they continue to study, and ignore the rest. For example, you want your children to know where the Jordan River is and Capernaum and Jerusalem, etc. But do they really need to know where Ai is in the grand scheme of things?

My teaching method has always been to try to point out map locations that help bring the stories alive when I'm teaching them, but only requiring the students to memorize locations that will help them to put the world into context as they grow and that will help them in future classes.

In the meantime, I am working on making CSII more practical by removing the obscure places. I'm sorry I haven't gotten it done sooner.

I love the Student Bible Atlas. I'd say if the location isn't in there, it isn't necessary for students to know.

Thanks,

Tanya
