History & Geography LC1

I am beginning LC1 with my daughter this year. She is in the 6th grade and we are not studying Rome in history this year. Can I just ignore the History and Geography portion in the lessons?

You can ignore the history/geography. It is purely suppemental to give the students an idea of the context the Latin language fits into culturally.
