New to Latin and need advice...

My dd is in K this year. We are using Sonlight curriculum with some variations with math and science. I am using "Ordinary Parent's Guide to Teaching Reading" for phonics. I am not using any grammar program for now and plan to hold off till 2nd grade. Am I doing this right?? Does the Prima Latina program take the place of an English language arts program? I'm confused as to whether I will need to purchase a separate language arts program.

The Prima Latina Program will take the place of a grammar program in the early elementary years. The reason for this is that Latin has a visible grammar, which makes the study of parts of speech very easy. I would not recommend beginning a student in Latin until he/she has become a confident reader.
