I have been using the CS with my oldest who will be in CSIII next year (6th grade). My 2nd child will be in 3rd grade next year and due to start CSI. I am considering whether it would work to start the 3rd grader on the CSIII with his older sister so we can work on it together. This is especially important as my 5 year old will be needing more attention next year with Kindergarten work. I know that the series builds on each other, but having done CSI, and in II now, I thought perhaps the jump to New Testament content might not make that "building" aspect quite so necessary. Then I would go back to CSI the following year as the older child will be moving beyond the CS series. My 2nd grader has been sitting in on the story reading last year and this year, so he is familiar with the content....but he has not been required to learn any of the verses, or do any of the "work" of the student books for I and II. As I have not seen the CSIII text, I wasn't sure if this was an option (starting with CSIII first).
