Salvete amici at amicae! I am teaching Latin to 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders at a Classical Christian School. I am in the process of considering a new curriculum for our classes. I was wondering if anyone had experince with both the Latina Christiana and the Latin For Children curriculum. If so I would love input and advice on the strengths and weaknesses of both. Any advice or input is greatly appreciated.

Hi,
I could be wrong, but I think most of the readers on this board use MP's Latina Christiana and so you might not get the information you are looking for. I suggest asking this question on the Well Trained Mind forums, http://www.welltrainedmind.com/forums/

That board is very lively, it's much quieter here.

FWIW, I've used Prima Latina, Latina Christiana I and am currently using LC II. I think they are eminently teachable, thorough, grade level appropriate, and easy to use, and I don't even have a Latin background. I use it in our homeschool, but I believe it would adapt easily to a co-op or classroom setting--after all, this is the program they use at the Highlands Latin School. We use the Ludere Latine puzzle books as well, which really do help reinforce lessons.

Hope that helps, and good luck!
