In LCC, Drew recommends going on to Henle 2 after completing the four Forms books by Cherly Lowe. I just want to be sure I am reading this right. Do the first four Forms curricula cover Henle I? We will be doing First Form after LCI for my 2 sixth graders and hope the other Forms come out soon; but if not, we may be confused as to where to pick up in Henle.

Yes, you're reading it right, and he's correct. Henle I the purple book is the entire Latin Grammar, the other three Henle books are mostly readers, so the four forms by Cheryl Lowe intend to cover 1/4 of the grammar each, and so after all four you would have covered the same ground grammatically speaking that Henle I would cover.

So...Here come my questions...
First through Fourth Form Latin is recommended now to replace Henle 1? Does Henle 1 work into the equation at all now? And how many years should it take to work through the 4 Forms? Is it one each year? Also, everything I've seen says that First Form was set to come out last summer, but did that get pushed to this summer? And if we should start with Second Form as we are now finishing up LC2, can we even get our hands on that yet?
This is really throwing me for a loop since I was all set to start Henle next year (I even already have all the materials that I picked up used for a good price). But I'd rather do what's best for my boys.

Hello.
First-Fourth forms will be a replacement for Henle I. These four grammar programs will cover the entire Latin grammar. Younger students should be able to complete them in four years, but older beginning Latin students (middle-high school) could complete them in two years. Then, students will be ready to move directly into Henle II which is a translation course. The grammar will be mastered and the reading will begin.
If you have completed LCII and your children progressed well through it, they should be fine with Henle I unless they are very young. If they are young, it may be frustrating to them and you may want to reconsider and do Second Form first. Our Forms have teacher lesson plans scripted out that make learning this grammar easier than it is with the Henle. But we do have online classes that can aid you in Henle study also.
Second Form will be available in a beta format this fall. If you would like to be put on the list of beta users, I will be glad to do that. Just shoot me an email (tanya@memoriapress.com). Also, I will be glad to help you further if I haven't answered your questions fully.
Thanks!
Tanya
