I am teaching LCI. There are a few questions that ask for a derivative that is not mentioned in the lesson. How is the child supposed to know the answer unless I supply it? Did I overlook something.

For example on pg 11, Lesson2 a question is: "The ______ cheered their team. (specto)" The word spectator was not in the video lesson or the written lesson. What should he do in that case if I don't know the answer. Right now, I've just given him the answer.

I had the same question as you when we went through LC 1.

What I did was to go through the TM and look at all the answers for the derivative questions and write any derivatives that were not listed already in the TM directly into my TM. Then I just gave my children the TM list to work from (covering up the answer key, of course).

This was also helpful to me when doing Ludere Latine 1. Many of the derivatives had not been specifically taught, and sometimes I wasn't sure what answer the book was wanting, so again I went through the answers to the derivative puzzles and added them to my TM. I think it was someone on this forum who posted this idea and it has worked really well.
