My daughter and I will be starting Latina Christiana next week. We have already watched a little of the DVD but I have never studied Latin and I'm not sure how to greet my daughter. She will say "Salve, Magistra" but the opening greeting listed in my Teacher's Manual, "Salvete, amici Latinae", is for multiple students. How do I greet just one?

Thank you!
Pamela

Pamela,

To greet one student, use "Salve, amice Latinae."

Thanks, Maria. How do you pronounce amice?

Amice is pronounced ah-MEE-cheh.

Thanks again, Maria. You know, I probably could have made this whole process easier by just greeting my daughter, Sophia, with "Salve Sophia"!
