I've had Henle for quite a while and have been slogging through it for almost a year. While I know that eventually I'll make it to the end I've wanted some moral support and a reason not to procrastinate. I went online and found a Wheelock study group for which I've purchased Wheelock's. It's a pretty good book but Henle seems more thorough and rigorous. Today I recieved the Classical Teacher which features an online course using Henle. Although the Wheelock study group is free I don't shy from the $80 price tag but I would like to be sold on the course itself. How will it measure up to other courses online? Will it be as rigorous as the book? Will Martin Cothran yell at me if slip in a conjugation?

There are some Henle online groups with their own syllabi, and they're free.

I don't know much about the Memoria Press classes, as they are new,. and I probably won't try them as money is tight and I am in school for other things right now. Perhaps Martin Cothran will see this thread and respond.

edblouin,
Yes, the HenleLatin groups are great! (Do note, however, that they're rather quiet at this time of the year since it's summer vacation for most students.)
About the online class you're considering: unless you looking for a slow pace, I don't recommend it at all. You'd only be covering the first two units of First Year Latin in a year. I think geekchic9 will agree with me that that's a little on the slow side! (She tried the Memoria Press syllabus, which uses the same pace as the online class, and found out rather quickly that it was too slow.)
Will Martin Cothran yell at me if slip in a conjugation?
Of course not! :)
