I am teaching Logic II this semester to a co-op class. My biggest concern (so far) is that I am not sure what the current event assignment should look like. Is there any way to get an example of this type of paper so I know what my students should be trying to accomplish? Thanks so much! (It would be a nice addition to the answer key.)

It sounds like you are referring to the "Weekly Analysis Assignments" at the end of each chapter. These assignments are meant more to give you topics for paper assignments you might be doing in another composition course, rather than as a stand-alone assignment. But they can be used as stand-alone assignments also.
In any case, your student's paper should obviously have some kind of coherent arrangement. Here is one suggested format you could use, which is loosely based on the typical classical arrangment of an argumentative paper:
1. Introduction: The student announces the subject and purpose of his paper. (1 paragraph)
2. Division: The student gives a list of the different articles about which he is writing. (1-2 paragraphs)
3. Summary: The student summarizes the arguments or articles he is analyzing, identifying, where possible their formal structure (in accordance with whatever form he is studying in the book). (1-2 paragraphs)
4. Critique/Refutation: The student states what is right or wrong about the articles or arguments he is analyzing--where the succeed or fail, and why. (2-5 paragraphs)
5. Conclusion: The author summarizes the nature of the articles or arguments he has analyzed and restates his findings. (1 paragraph)
Hope this helps.
