We used Prima Latina last year, and we've noticed that the pronunciation has differed between Cheryl and Leigh. It seems to us that Leigh used the pronunciation key more deliberately in Prima Latina, which made sense to me. We just finished lesson 17 and 18 in LCI, and the pronunciation for future tense endings was remarkably different than in Prima Latina. Prima Latina (Leigh) consistently used the pronunciations we learned in the key in the front of the book... Cheryl has not, in several places. Then on the DVD's, Leigh has changed HER pronunciation in lesson 17 (LCI) , then in lesson 18, it is changed AGAIN slightly. Is it "Bo, bees, beet, beemus, boont," (as in Prima Latina), or is it "bo, bis, bit, bimus, bunt," (short sounds, more like English), as in LCI? That seems to be a big thing to me, since we will use it so much... It makes sense to us to use the long sounds, but then again, I don't have a Latin background.

Jen
