Section D #3. Poets love a happy song. Your answer is "Poetae carmen laetum amant."

Why is carmen laetum in the nominative case? "a happy song" is not a direct object?

Thank you.

carmen is not nominative -- it is accusative. carmen is a neuter noun; thus the nominative and accusative have the same form. Paul OBrien.
