I'm currently using Singapore for 6th, 4th and 2nd. It was slightly recommended in LCC 1st ed. Why is Rod & Staff more highly recommended and even now offered as an online class through MP? What sets it apart and makes it better?
I am pleased with the problem solving in Singapore, and think that it's more real world applicable. We also do timed drills.
I'm preparing for next year, and wanted to know if I should reconsider. Can you get R&S samples?
Thanks for any input!

Can you get R&S samples?

Yes, you can get free curriculum samples for grades 1-6. I haven't looked at them for a few years, but if I remember correctly they contain a couple lessons for each subject. You can request the samples for the grades you're interested in by calling Rod & Staff at 606-522-4348.

I definitley think if Singapore is working for your family then stick with it. I think they try to offer a variety of choices because not all children will do well with one math program. I know Rod and Staff math is very thorough and provides repetition and drill but, as I understand it, is very weak on understanding math concepts. We use Singapore for K-5 and then I switch to Teaching Textbooks.
