If you want a simple primer, consider Phonics Pathways by Dolores Hiskes (dorbooks.com) or First Reader by Phyllis Schlafly (eagleforum.org/order/book).
If you want something more fully scripted for the parent, consider the Ordinary Parent's Guide to Reading by Jesse Wise (peacehillpress.com).
If you want workbooks to use alone or in concert with any other program, the Explode the Code books (epsbooks.com) are great.
For a fully scripted, step-by-step, lots-of-extras and really expensive ;) program, you could consider "Saxon Phonics", "Sing, Spell, Read and Write" or Veritas' Press "Phonics Museum".
There are also the Writing Road to Reading and Spell to Write and Read type materials.
Any of the above will give you a good phonics education. My personal preference is for a simple primer, phonetic readers (Bob books, Nora Gaydos' "Animal Antics" and "Playful Pals", etc), and ETC workbooks because both of my kids have enjoyed workbooks at this stage. A useful extra was Reading Reflex, which many libraries carry.
I've taught my girls using Phonics Pathways.......I liked it. Now I am using it with my boy. Once they were reading I brought in Bob Books. The girls are solid readers.......they are in 2nd Grade.
