Church Hymns

Hi,

I just read the summer issue of The Classical Teacher. Loved it. The first article on Pronunciation mentioned great church hymns. Can anyone suggest some CD's with Latin hymns that you have enjoyed with your children. I think it would be fun to teach my girls some hymns in Latin next year.

Our Lingua Angelica CD has great Latin Church hymns. We had it specially recorded by a six voice choir to ensure clear pronunciation of the Latin words.

You might also be interested in the Treasures of English Church Music by the Cambridge Singers. It is a beautiful CD with 15 Latin songs and about 35 in English.

Catholic Latin Classics by the Cathedral Singers is available at www.ignatius.com

While these CDs do not have the clear pronunciation of Lingua Angelica, the music is HEAVENLY and professionally done.
