Do I need the Grammar Charts or the Book of Roots for LCI?

My son will be in 3rd grade next fall. We will be starting LCI towards the end of this year after finishing PL, and will continue next year. Would the Grammar Charts or the Book of Roots be helpful? Thanks!

I've taught LC1 in a school and have used it with 2 of my children. I've not added in the Book of Roots or the Charts but I do like the addition of Ludere Latine. It really cements those endings!

The information on the Grammar Charts will be in the back of LC and you will want to chant and recite that grammar daily. Please read the articles on this site about Latin Recitation. THere are 2 or 3. Implementing daily recitation has really transformed our Latin instruction. My children are really nailing that Latin grammar.
