My oldest kids (10 and 12) are six weeks into Henle I using Ms. Lowe's study guide. We're really enjoying it! I don't know if I would have had the confidence to dive into Henle without the guide, however, and am feeling worried about the fact that there are only 2 years' worth of guides!

Does anyone know if there are more guides for Henle coming out in the future?

Thanks,
Heather

No more guides are scheduled at this point. But after two years of using our "system" your student should be able to continue without any trouble. Most of the techniques used in the Henle guides are used over and over again, so they should be second nature after two years.

I am an aging English teacher teaching Latin in an independent Catholic school. While to keep myself honest I do all of the exercises, it would be extremely helpful to have an answer key to follow the last key(Exercise 103 I believe) in the Study Guide for Units I&II. Is one if the works? If not, would there be sufficient interest for us to generate one out of St. Andrew School in Montana?

penelope,

Did you know about the answer key that Henle himself put together? You can get it here (http://www.memoriapress.com/descriptions/Henle1.html) under the name Henle I Key. It's in the "Individual Books" box on the right hand side of the page.

Hope this helps,
Maria

Martin, we had to drop Latin due to the lack of support after the second year. You say the student should have mastered the "system," but that doesn't take into account pacing, availability of quizzes (and keys) and all that goes into managing our daughter's learning experience. I don't know if you realize that your study guides and quiz packets make it possible for parents like me--who don't know Latin themselves--to help our children teach themselves. I hope you'll reconsider, especially as you must have the materials at hand, in some form, in order for you to have online courses. (I would challenge you to be able to express that last sentence in Latin!) Have a great day...

Hi,

I could not agree more with the views expressed here that the Guides are an invaluable help to parents, especially for those with little or no Latin background that really feel the need for the children to take Latin. They make it so easy to plan the lessons - actually we DON'T have to plan the lessons, just check off work as done. :D The answers included in the first guide are much easier to follow than Henle's Key as well, and I appreciated them so much. We're in the 2nd Guide book now, and I am hoping we don't have to drop Latin after unit 5 just because I lack the confidence, or really the time, it takes to lay all this out.

Please, PLEASE reconsider continuing these Guides for Henle Level 1 Units 6 - 14, as well as the upper level Henle years.

Thank you SO much!

Wanda

My youngest is now in the middle of LCI.

There's time to put together advanced guides for Henle!

Please?

Hello!

After LCI, I would suggest that you move to our new Forms Latin series. We have First Form completed, Second Form is currently being beta tested, and Third and Fourth Forms will follow in the next two years. Once you have completed all four forms, you will no longer need the Henle I. Forms Latin is the entire Latin grammar with so much more help than we can give you with Henle. It has a teacher guide with scripted lesson plans, a workbook with 5-6 pages of exercises per lesson, dvds, etc.

So, no worries! We are taking care of you. After you finish our Forms program, you will be ready for Henle II or any other translation course you choose to do.

If you need more information about moving into First Form, feel free to contact us, and we'll be glad to help.

Regards,

Tanya
