Does MP's Latin progression (including continuing on to Henle) ever get into diagramming sentences? If so, when?

Nanci,

Diagramming sentences starts in Henle I.

Henle doesn't really teach diagramming, however. It uses diagrams in a few places to illustrate a grammatical construction, and asks the students to diagram a few examples now and then. I think it assumes that the student has already learned diagramming. I'd recommend a good English program which teaches diagramming to be taught before starting Henle. I really like Rod and Staff. My 7-8 graders are doing LC II and R & S English 7 and I'm hoping that they'll find high school Latin a breeze! (Or at least not as frustrating as some of my earlier students found it.)

I was wondering if I should supplement the Grammar in the Latin progression or not, because although I LOVE the Latin part (and so do the children), it seems "light" on actual grammar.
I am using Rod and Staff 3 and 5 orally with my children alongside of LC1. I am glad to hear that you are farther along down the road and see it as a good base. This is our first year with R &S and it does seem really thorough.
