Concepts: Simple and Complex

The opening of the chapter on Comprehension and Extension identifies chair as a simple concept and man as complex. Aren't both complex, though, since both have more than one note?

You are, in fact, correct. I can't remember where I pointed it out--whether it was in the Logic I book or the Logic I DVD--that I am really speaking in relative terms here. The concept 'chair' is relatively more simple than than 'man'. The only absolutely simple terms would be terms like 'angel', since Angels have only one note.
