Recommendations for First Grade

Hi! If Christian Studies is recommended for use beginning in grade 3, what do you recommend for grade 1? Should I start with Story of the World and then move to CS at a later time? I would really appreciate a point in the right direction!

I would recommend simply reading the child simple Bible stories from a good story Bible. The Golden Bible is a good one, as is Hurlbut's and the Catherine Vos story Bible.
