How many DVDs come with the Traditional Logic set? I just received mine from a homeschool supplier that carries Memoria Press products. It has 2 discs - (Disc 1 Introduction - Chapter2) (Disc 2 Chapter 8 - 13). Am I missing something?

Maggie,

There are only two discs in the set, so you should have them all. It only goes to chapter 13 because chapter 14 (the last chapter) is just a review chapter.

Thanks.

Our homeschool is planning on working through TLII this coming year. When we worked through TLI, the DVD's were not available. Though it was meaty work, and I had not ever taken a logic course, we did fine. Now I am wondering what we were missing. I would love my children to take a course with Mr. Cothran so my questions are these:

How much different are the DVD's from the text in the books? How much do the lectures add? Are there further explanations or examples? Are there questions from the students that are answered? Do the graphics on the DVD's correspond with the ones in the book? Are there additional ones? How long are the lecture sessions? Is there one per week? Can they be divided into smaller sections for several shorter class sessions per week?

Thanks for any help,

TerriKY

I have a similar question to the previous post about the Traditional Logic 1 DVDs ..... I'm trying to decide if I need to purchase the DVDs or if we can get along with just the workbook. Are the DVDs actual teaching with a teacher or supplemental info to the workbook?

Thank you,
DJ

The Logic I DVD sticks pretty closely to what is in the book, giving you visual examples and explanation. That's partly because the book is pretty simple and straightforward and there is no need to get complicated. The Logic II DVD has a lot more in the way of additional examples and helps, mostly because the material is, by its nature, more complicated.

Are there questions from the students that are answered?

They are anticipated and answered.

Do the graphics on the DVD's correspond with the ones in the book? Are there additional ones?

Since I add a lot more examples, they are mostly different.

How long are the lecture sessions?

I think they are from 15-25 minutes per chapter.

Is there one per week? One per lesson, which is one per week if you are doing the program in a semester.

Can they be divided into smaller sections for several shorter class sessions per week?

Yes.
