I'm thinking of using LC I and II next year with my 8th grade son so we can go on to Henle in 9th grade. If I'm going to cover both levels in one year, what should I buy? The teaching DVDs and Ludere Latine games and the Book of Roots all sound like fun but I don't know if it would be too much to try to squeeze into one year, besides the cost.

Neither my son or I have any previous Latin experience -- I'm looking forward to learning it along with him.

Hi Donna
I would buy the Latina Christiana I Set and DVDs and the Latina Christiana II Set and DVDs. The DVDs are worth the extra money, especially if you are going to move through both books in one year without any Latin background.

You will probably be busy trying to work through both courses in one year without adding much supplemental work. If you find that you have extra time and want some additional Latin practice, you can always come back later and buy the Ludere Latine (http://memoriapress.com/descriptions/Latin-Games.html), Lingua Biblica, or Lingua Angelica (http://memoriapress.com/descriptions/lingua1.html).

Thank you for your reply. That makes sense to me.

It's going to be an adventure!
