I have read that Henle I will take approximately two years. Is the same true of the next three books? Does that mean it will take eight years to complete the series. If so, that means we won't finish it, even if we start in grade 6 as planned. Is there a certain level of Henle that the student should certainly strive to complete in high school if they'll not complete the entire course?
Thanks for any explanation. I need to have an idea of what we're going to try and have done by when.

RobinA,
Henle I can be done in two years if your student is in high school. But if you start Henle I in 6th grade, it would more realistic to expect to complete it in three, maybe four, years.
Henle II doesn't take as long to complete. A good student could complete it in one year, but most need to take two years.
The last two books take approximately a year each to finish. These last two books are not really necessary. All the grammar is covered in Henle I and II. Henle III and IV mainly present Roman classics for study and translation. If you're focusing on Christian Latin, you may not want to take these books (although a little more Latin practice never hurt anyone).
My advice is: take your time with the Henle I; then complete Henle II. If your student is still in high school by the time he/she finishes these books, he/she can take on the last two books.
For more information on how to schedule the Henle books, you can go to http://www.memoriapress.com/articles/outline.html.
Hope this helps,
Maria

Thanks so much, Maria. This is exactly what I needed to know. I had not seen the scheduling information before, so that is *very* helpful.
Thanks again,
Robin
