I am involved with a young Classical School which will offer grades K-8 next year. I am looking for ideas and information about launching the high school program in a cottage school format to reduce costs as enrollment will be low the first few years. I am interested in any of the following:

1. schedule ideas
2. attracting current full time middle schoolers to continue.
3. attracting homeschoolers to join
4. where to find part time teachers
5. administration

Thanks

This wouldn't be Providence Classical School in Williamsburg, would it? (Just thought I'd ask!)

I'm actually LOOKING to be a part-time Latin teacher, though preferrably to high school grades...

We can discuss this further, but typically attraction of anything begins (on the part of the attracted) by curiosity, and (on the part of the attracting) by example. But that's pretty basic.

Seeing that your post was made at the end of April, I'm wondering how things are going now, what progress has been made, and what plans are still afoot.

There are a few classical schools already in Virginia, you might want to find if one or more of them is in relatively close proximity and then visit and see what troubles they faced in start up, as well as what they learned from the process or what they would do differently.

We are in York County and Newport News, I know of another in Hampton and in Williamsburg in the Hampton Roads area.
