Hi! I have a couple of questions about Famous Men of Rome and the student's study guide. I'm thinking of beginning this, but I was wondering how old/what grade level a child should be in order to be comfortable with the material. I have a 2nd grader and a 3rd grader who are doing Prima Latina and Latina Christiana I respectively. We have been skipping the history section in Latina Christiana . I'd like to do Famous Men of Rome with both my 2nd and 3rd grader at the same time. The 2nd grader is a very good reader. Does anyone here have experience with the Famous Men of Rome text and study guide at these grade levels? Also, is the student's study guide a consumable workbook?

Thank you. I'd really appreciate any insights or advice.

Hi Rachel,

We recommend that you start FMR in the third grade, but that is just a guideline, not a hard and fast rule.

The Famous Men of Rome student guide is consumable.

I will let others tell you about their experience with the guides. Of course, we think they are great.
