What is the difference between et & atque?
Also, what is the difference between eques, equitis & equitatus,us?
Because when I translate from English to Latin I don't know which word to use.

Here you go:

Et and atque are effectively equivalent, especially for the student. There are subtle differences, but these would only confuse you at this stage. Eques means horseman, cavalryman, knight -- equitis is the genitive singular. Equitatus means cavalry. And, of course, equus means horse. Paul.
